A California Bay Area native tenor Joshua La Force has delighted in performing opera, operetta and musical theater.
A self proclaimed "American Operetta Specialist" and a great lover of the works of Gilbert & Sullivan as well as other
operetta greats such as Friml, Romberg and Kern he has appeared around the San Francisco Bay Area in Herbert's Naughty Marietta and Mlle.
Modiste (as Etienne) with Lyric Theatre of San Jose and Lehar's The Merry Widow (Cascada) with both Lyric Theatre and Opera
San Jose. He also recently appeared in his favorite G&S roles in Houston Texas with the Houston Gilbert & Sullivan
Society in The Gondoliers (Marco), Trial by Jury (Edwin) and Ruddigore (Richard Dauntless) and in San Francisco, CA and Walnut Creek, CA with Lamplighter's productions
of The Mikado (Nanki-poo), Princess Ida (Prince Hilarion), H.M.S. Pinafore (Ralph) and The Pirates of Penzance (Frederic). Among his
operatic credits include
Don Pasquale (Ernesto) with Fremont Mission Opera, Eugene Onegin (Triquet), Falstaff (Dr. Caijus), Manon (Guillot),
Don Pasquale (Ernesto) and La Cenerentola (Don Ramiro) with Opera San Jose.
Equally at home on the concert stage Mr. La Force has appeared with the Sacramento Philharmonic and Oakland Symphony
as a soloist,
the San Jose Wind Symphony as a guest singer and narrator, with the Andrea Fulton Chorale in Yosemite CA, on tour coast to coast
with Savoy Express, a G&S highlights potpourri, with Berkeley Opera and an American Operetta Concert series with Lamplighters in San Francisco.
Mr. La Force currently makes his home in Houston Texas .
